Developing collaborative leadership across Cumbria

Updated: Mar 13, 2019

Greengage is working with the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Triust and their partners to build the skills, confidence and commitment of senior staff to lead collaborative working across deaprtmental boundaries within their own organisation, with external partners and with local community groups.

“I don’t recall ever attending training that was as constructive, purposeful and useful to my everyday work and life, I really enjoyed it”

Greengage trained a cohort of clinicians and managers from the NHS and local government to facilitate breakthroughs on live issues and opportunities using Greengage’s Collaboration Canvas. The Collaboration Canvas is a systematic approach for individuals to work together on complex challenges to co-create robust, integrated solutions whilst giving everyone involved a voice and a sense of ownership. The approach focuses diverse views around the creation of a single integrated plan. This leadership development programme has been delivered in four three-hour modules with practice in between.

Following the development programme, participants have used the approaches to work with colleagues and partners on a wide range of issues and challenges including designing a single dressing service for a group of general practices, clarifying the purpose and priorities of a multi-agency integrated-care community and enhancing mental health services within Barrow-in-Furness.
